Workshops (6 Hours) -

For most of the workshops, participants are asked to do some cutting at home so that we are ready to sew as soon as the workshops begin.  For some of the patterns, participants are asked to make the nine patches prior to class time so that we can get the top mostly finished in class.

Because borders are so important to the overall quilt, a small portion of each class will be dedicated to borders.  We will discuss:
  • Finding the perfect border for your quilt
  • Making the perfect border fit your quilt (using a coping strip to make a pieced border fit)
  • Sewing the border to the quilt so that your top lies perfectly flat.
If you have seen one of my projects you think your guild/group would enjoy and you do not see it here, please contact me.

Connect the Dots - (67" x 85").  There are a few half square triangles but otherwise, mostly squares and rectangles and QUICK! The border is quite simple and quick to make and adds a nice frame to the center of the quilt.

Info, including fabric requirements are here.  Those taking the class are asked to download and print the pattern and bring to class.

Star Gazing  - (72" x 96") - Three main fabrics - background, a dark and a light of one color - are needed and the remainder of the fabric for the stars can be scraps.

More info, as well as fabric requirements, are here.  Before class, each participant should print off the instructions, which are listed as "Clues 1 - 6" since this was originally done as a mystery.

Morning Splash - (84" x 100") - You'll be surprised at the ease of the blocks and you'll want to use this border over and over again.

Supply List for Morning Splash

Shining Star - (66" x 84") - The Tri-Recs™ ruler makes perfect points!  The alternating block makes for a quick quilt.  The border is very forgiving and always fits perfectly!

Jellybean Garden (81" x 95") - Just a bit of a twist on setting the nine patch blocks together.  A plain, quick border with a pieced corner frames those easy nine patches.

Topsy Turvy Nine Patch (60" x 78") - A favorite for the past few years. Topsy Turvy Nine Patch is a fun quilt to make!  I've seen so many fabric combinations and they're all fantastic!

Peaches & Cream - 80" x 92" (can easily be made smaller) - Look at your stash.  Do you have way too much of one color?  Use it in this quilt.  Lights, mediums, darks, along with some backgrounds (ecrus or whites) and you'll have a stunning monochomatic type quilt.

Bears in the Farmhouse - 72" x 87"-  Stripes make this quilt!   It's a fun and quick quilt.
